My name is Wendy. I am 38 years old and have been married to my college sweetheart for almost 17 years. I am an Aunt to two sweet nieces and two cute nephews. I am originally from southern California, but I grew up in a small town in southwest Washington where I was involved with horses while growing up. I worked a variety of jobs over the years, mostly clerical, but always wanted to try doing something on my own. I kind of fell into making jewelry by accident and never imagined that I would start my own jewelry business. My husband, Todd, is a Licensed Journeyman Electrician and has been working as a specialty technician for the past 11 years. About My Jewelry I started making jewelry in 2005 when I purchased a few packs of Swarovski Crystal at a local store. I had always wanted to try making jewelry but was always busy with other things and kept forgetting about it. After making my first bracelets, I continued to make jewelry and gave it to family and friends as gifts. I kept receiving compliments on my work and in the fall of 2008, I made the decision to turn my hobby into a home based business. I had always been aware of lampwork glass, all though I don't remember exactly how. I have always loved stained glass, glass ornaments etc. In 2007, I purchased my first sets of lampwork glass beads from an artist. I remember just staring at them in awe! Lampwork Glass jewelry is my favorite to make as it is truly unique. I support Self Representing Glass Artists (SRA) and never use mass produced lampwork in my designs. I still love to work with certain gemstones including genuine USA/Mexican Turquoise, Amethyst, Kyanite, Larimar, Smoky Quartz, Labradorite, Tiger Iron, and certain kinds of jaspers. I avoid using gemstones that have been dyed as much as I can and always use the very best quality that I can find. All of my jewelry is created with quality craftsmanship and careful attention to detail. I use sterling silver and fine silver and occasionally I will use pure copper, gold filled, and gold vermeil. Most of the gemstones and pearls I use are purchased in person to insure they are of the best quality. I use Swarovski Crystal and some Czech Glass in my designs as well. I like to make a wide variety of jewelry and am currently experimenting with some new techniques and styles. |
